Overview

AI Assistant lets you build and manage your agents by chatting. You describe what you need and AI Assistant does it: it creates and edits agents, sets up knowledge, interactive content, evaluations and tests, and opens the right part of the platform for you. Everything it creates is the same agent or asset you would build in Studio, so you can switch between the two modes at any time.

Switching Between AI Assistant and Studio

Use the mode switch in the top right corner of the platform:

  • AI Assistant: chat on the left, the platform on the right.

  • Studio: the classic interface with forms and tables.

AI Assistant opens by default when you sign in. The platform remembers the mode you used last.

When you switch, you stay where you were. If you are looking at an agent in Studio and switch to AI Assistant, the same agent opens in the panel on the right, and AI Assistant knows which agent you mean. Switching back to Studio opens the page shown in the panel.

Unsaved changes are not carried over. If you have unsaved edits, the Unsaved Changes dialog asks you to confirm. Click Leave Page to switch and discard them, or Cancel to stay and save first.

The AI Assistant Screen

Area What it does

Chat (left)

Where you talk to AI Assistant. Its answers, the actions it runs and the confirmations it needs all appear here.

Panel (right)

Opens as soon as AI Assistant shows you something, such as an agent, a list of knowledge or analytics. The panel is fully interactive: you can click, edit and save here exactly as in Studio. Use the expand/collapse icon in the top right corner of the chat to show or hide it.

Sidebar

Collapsed by default. Open it with the sidebar icon in the top left corner. In AI Assistant mode, clicking a sidebar item opens that view in the panel.

While AI Assistant is changing something, the panel is dimmed and shows AI assistant is working…. This prevents conflicting edits. The panel unlocks when the change is done.

Writing a Message

Type in the message box and press Enter to send. Press Shift+Enter for a new line. While AI Assistant is busy, the box shows Reasoning… or Working… with a timer.

To interrupt AI Assistant, press the square Stop button that replaces the send button while it is replying. AI Assistant stops the response right away.

Dictating a Message

Click the microphone to speak instead of typing. Your words are written into the message box so you can check and correct them before you send. Nothing is sent automatically. Click the microphone again (now a square) to stop recording.

Voice input needs microphone access. If the microphone is blocked, allow it for the platform in your browser settings.

Following What AI Assistant Does

Each action AI Assistant takes appears in the chat as an activity card, for example Creating agent, Adding web knowledge or Searching the web. The card shows its status (Running, Completed, Failed or Canceled) and how long it has taken. Some cards can be expanded to show details.

Creating or rewriting an agent can take a minute or more.

Confirming Risky Actions

Before AI Assistant deletes, clones, reverts or publishes something, it stops and asks you with a card in the chat. The card names the action and the item, for example AI assistant wants to delete "Support FAQ", and explains the risk.

Button Shortcut What happens

Allow for this session

Enter

Runs the action. Further actions of the same kind (for example, deleting knowledge) run without asking until you reload the page.

Allow once

Cmd+Enter / Ctrl+Enter

Runs this action only. The next one asks again.

Allow for all tasks

None

Runs the action and stops asking for any confirmation until you reload the page.

Deny

Esc

Cancels the action. AI Assistant doesn’t retry it.

These actions always ask for confirmation:

  • Deleting an agent, knowledge item, integration, interactive content item, evaluation (including its groups and output data elements), content navigation item or test suite

  • Cloning an agent, evaluation, interactive content item, content navigation item or test suite

  • Reverting an agent to an earlier revision

  • Promoting an agent to Preview and publishing it

Deletions can’t be undone. Use Allow for all tasks only when you are sure about everything you’ve asked for.

  • If you don’t answer within 5 minutes, the request expires and the action is not carried out.

  • Reloading the page resets all approvals. The next risky action asks again.

What You Can Ask

Area Examples of what AI Assistant does

Agents

Creates agents from a description, edits any part of an agent, checks it for gaps, changes voice and appearance, shows revisions, reverts, promotes to Preview, publishes, clones and deletes. See Creating & Configuring Agents.

Knowledge

Adds a website as knowledge, edits and checks knowledge, and deletes it. To upload a file, AI Assistant opens the upload form for you. See Knowledge Bases.

Interactive content

Adds and edits inputs, choices, images, videos, web pages and handovers, including handovers that offer several agents to choose from. See Interactive Content.

Evaluations

Creates and edits evaluations and their output data elements (yes/no, number, text, list of values), and groups them. See Evaluations.

Integrations

Opens the form to add or edit an MCP, pre-session or post-session integration for you to complete, and deletes integrations. See Integrations.

Content navigation

Creates, edits, clones and deletes folders and items. See Content Navigation.

Testing

Creates and runs test suites and summarises their results.

Analytics

Opens project or agent analytics for the period you name and summarises the numbers. See Analytics.

Project and account

Changes the project name, description and colors, and opens settings, members, billing and identity providers.

Questions

Answers questions about the platform from this documentation, and searches the public web (for example a company, a market or a term). Answers from the web include links to their sources.

AI Assistant can’t delete accounts or projects, archive agents, upload logos or knowledge files for you, talk to your agents for you, or sign you in or out.

AI Assistant has access to the internet. Ask it to look up a company, a market, a competitor or a term, and it answers with links to its sources. You can also give it the address of a website and ask it to use that page as knowledge for an agent.

Running a test suite uses conversational minutes, just like a real conversation.

Example Prompts

Start broad and let AI Assistant ask follow-up questions:

  • "I run a chain of dental clinics. Help me build an agent that books and reschedules appointments."

  • "Create a sales roleplay agent for junior SDRs who sell cybersecurity software to mid-market companies."

Change one thing at a time on the agent that is open:

  • "Make the agent’s tone warmer and shorter, and have it always confirm the customer’s name."

  • "Change the voice to a British English female voice."

  • "Add a guardrail: never discuss pricing, offer to connect to sales instead."

  • "Check this agent for gaps or contradictions."

Work with assets:

  • "Add our FAQ page https://example.com/faq as knowledge and connect it to the support agent."

  • "Add a choice that lets the user pick Billing, Technical issue or Other."

  • "Add a handover that lets the user choose between the Sales agent and the Support agent."

  • "Create an evaluation that checks whether the agent collected an email address and rates the conversation from 1 to 5."

Review and release:

  • "Show me the revisions of this agent."

  • "Promote this agent to Preview." Then: "Publish it."

  • "Show analytics for the last 30 days for the onboarding agent."

Find your way:

  • "Open the knowledge of the Marketing project."

  • "Who are the members of this project?"

Working with Files

Attach files to a message with the paperclip, or drag them onto the chat. AI Assistant reads them and uses the content to answer or build. Each file shows a Reading document activity card.

Supported files

PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, CSV, TXT, HTML, PNG, JPG, TIFF

Limits

Up to 5 files per message, 10 MB per file, 25 MB in total

Tell AI Assistant what to do with the file, for example "Use this playbook to create a coaching agent". If you attach a file without instructions, AI Assistant summarises what it found and asks how to help.

  • For images, AI Assistant reads only the text in them (for example, a screenshot of a table). It can’t interpret pictures without text.

  • Attached files are used only in the chat. Your agents can’t see them. To give an agent a document, upload it as knowledge. AI Assistant can open the upload form for you.

The Agent Panel

When AI Assistant opens an agent, the panel shows its configuration. Click any field to edit it directly. Changes are saved right away.

  • Customize (top left): change the avatar, background, camera and voice.

  • Revision tag (top right, for example Draft 3): opens Active revisions, where you can switch between revisions. See Revisions.

  • QR code: scan it with the PromethistAI app to talk to the agent.

  • Open in new Tab: opens the agent in the web client in a new browser tab, so you can try it out.

A warning icon next to the QR code means the account’s subscription is not active. The agent can’t be previewed in the mobile app or web preview until it is. See Without an Active Subscription.

Fields can’t be edited when you are looking at an older revision or when your role is Viewer.

On the Agents list, Open Project opens the project in the web client in a new tab. It appears once the project has at least one published agent.

Permissions

AI Assistant acts as you, with your role. It can’t do anything you couldn’t do in Studio:

  • Viewers can look around and ask questions, but can’t change anything.

  • Editors and Owners can create and edit agents and assets.

  • Members and billing are available to Owners only.

Conversation History

AI Assistant remembers your conversation across sessions, so you can refer back to earlier topics. After you reload the page or sign in again, the chat starts empty on screen, but AI Assistant still has the context. In long conversations, older messages are summarised automatically.

AI Assistant also notices what you change yourself in the panel or in Studio, and takes it into account in later answers.

Your First Conversation

The first time you use AI Assistant, it introduces the platform and asks about your company and goals before it builds anything. It also asks which package fits your use case, Engage or Empower. Sharing a company overview or a sales playbook speeds this up.

Best Practices

  1. Describe the outcome, not the fields. "An agent that qualifies leads for our webinar" works better than listing every setting.

  2. Share documents early. A playbook or product sheet saves several rounds of questions.

  3. Make one change at a time and check the result in the panel before the next one.

  4. Read the confirmation card before you allow a delete, revert or publish.

  5. Use Studio for bulk or precise work, such as editing many fields at once or uploading files.

Think of AI Assistant as a colleague who knows the platform. It is fastest for getting started and for focused changes. Studio is your precision tool for detailed work and administration.
